Amelia Island Eight Flags Road Tour

March 14, 2015/Jonathan Rundle/0 Comments

One of the events happening concours weekend is the Eight Flags Road Tour. The tour cruises around the vicinity of Amelia Island with a stop in Fernandina Beach for lunch. I took that opportunity to take some photos of the vehicles participating.

The tour takes its name from the “Isle of Eight Flags” a nickname for Amelia Island. Amelia Island is the only municipality in the United States that has flown eight different national flags. It has had the flags of the following nations flown over it since 1562: France, Spain, Great Britain, Spain (again), the Patriots of Amelia Island, the Green Cross of Florida, Mexico, the Confederate States of America, and the United States.

The road tour is only open to Councours-registered vehicles, so the quality of the cars running the tour is second to none.
